Malik's Law HB 4553
Introduced into the House of Representatives March 2025, this bill is relating to the mandatory reporting of birth outcomes by licensed midwives in the State of Texas.
Currently licensed midwives are not required to report any outcomes relating to transfer, mortality, or morbidity to a standard reporting system. The reporting system licensed midwives will refer to is a voluntary reporting system and is not available to consumers like you and I.
This allows licensed midwifes the ability to report to consumers whatever statistics they would like regarding mortality and morbidity rates occurring out of hospital.
